Rice and His Protopage

Rice’s ProtopageOk, so I have been using a web tool called Protopage. Its, at the core, is a starting page before heading out into the internet wild. If you’re like me, there are a few things that I like to do when first getting on the web. Namely check email, the news and a few blogs of interest. Protopage lets you do that in a nicely contained system. Basically, widgets galore. There are widgets for email, rss feeds, podcasts, photostreams and more. I’ll stop there before I start getting to fanboy status. Check out Rice 2point Oh to see how I set up my page. From there, there are links to other Protopages by my friends and friends of friends.

She so adore’s me

This is a great photo of social commentary. Its a classic pose, one that shows male dominance over his woman and that the woman knows her place. The man with eyes looking forward, arms around his property, tells others to back off. The woman, whose head is tilted up and eyes gazing on her man, shows that she is ok with being the subservient one. If nothing else, the artist has suggested his view of Man as King is alive and well in today’s society.

Zune Orgy

Found this while going through TechCrunch. As funny as it is, I for one, am glad that there is going to be a real competitor to the iPod. It’s not that I am against the iPod, heaven’s no. I just think that there always needs to be competition when trying to take my money from my wallet. Many people are so in love with their iPods and iTunes that they are quick to see the Zune die. If Microsoft gets it together, we’ll, hopefully, see greater achievements in the world of digital entertainment. The end of hard copies of digital media alltogether? That would be a great step forward.

A Saturday Night

It was a crazy night. Well, not too crazy, just me and D acting silly with a few friends. Man Dre and Kiki were hosting a photo shoot slash party at Adrienne and Joy’s house. Here are pics that D and I took. I can’t wait to see what Andre had captured. I , for one, was probably a little too lit. Luckily, pictures can fill in the blank spaces in my memory. And a big thanks to Vanessa for babysitting our little one. I wish I could tell you more, but…

UPDATED 11/14/2006: Ok, so I suck at recounting events. Here is Danielle’s version of the night.

UPDATED 11/16/2006:  Here are the pics that  Man Dre took.  Kiki’s are here.

Wii would very much like one

If, say, you live in the US and was thinking of getting me a Nintendo Wii for XMas, check out Chris Lambert’s Nintendo Wii Locator to find the Target store that has it in stock. This is just a suggestion.

Halloween Goodness

zissouid.pngHalloween has come and gone. This year, at the suggestion of my wonderful fiancé, I went as an Intern with Team Zissou. The costume is really easy to put together, requiring nothing out-of-the-ordinary. Light blue shirt and pants, a red cap, white shoes, and blue electrical tape. Easy. Now, walking around as Team Zissou was a little difficult. While at work, I must have had to explain what I was to nearly 90% of my co-workers. Come on! We work in Holywood and Hollywoody type stuff, namely movies. Luckily the badge I made helped make the explaining go a little eSheilaasier.
I was not the only one to dress up at work. In years gone by, I was the lone, or nearly lone, supporter of Halloween. This year, we had a total of 8 out of 30 kids dress up. Not too shabby for our group. Interactive seemed to have a 90% turnout. Oh well, so it goes. Maybe next year, we’ll get more folks to be more ‘sprited’.
